What does the design process look like from start to finish? How do we begin?

1. Get to know each other

A home is a very personal thing, and when you engage in our services, we’ll be spending a lot of time together so it’s important that we are comfortable with each other. We’ll begin laying the foundations of that relationship early with a casual introductory meeting. Of course, we’ll also engage in a comprehensive review of your goals and dreams for your space, the scope of work, and we’ll talk through some of the initial pros and cons of different approaches.

 

2. Plan and prepare

Your involvement in the early developmental stages is essential, so we’ll be working closely with you during these design phases. Following our initial consultation, we’ll provide you with a review of your project including some drawings and space planning. We’ll meet to blend your thoughts and requirements with our recommendations, and to define your comfort level with the project, process and your/our degree of involvement.

 

3. Define the scope

Upon agreement to our general approach, we’ll establish a scope of work and a comfortable budget. We’ll be completely open and upfront concerning your expectations in order to provide you with a realistic timeframe. As we move forward, we’ll remain in regular contact throughout the process to avoid unwelcome surprises regarding budget and scheduling.

 

4. Design your home

With all the necessary pre-planning finalized, our vision begins to take tangible form as we design your living space complete with furnishing and finishing selections. We’ll meet again to present our design concepts to you, then make any necessary revisions based on your input. You always have the final decision on any matter, but we are confident that with open communication throughout the process, you will be happy with our recommendations.

 

5. Source and purchase

Once we have an approved design, we’ll agree to all purchase selections and establish an ordering process. Although we’ll continue to meet periodically to share options and provide progress updates, the largest demands on your time are now over. We will coordinate all orders on your behalf, managing the budget and timelines.

 

6. Deliver and install

As our design begins to transform your home, we stay involved to manage tradespeople, deliveries and installations, ensuring the project is completed accurately, on-time and within budget. We’ll continue to keep the communication lines open, freeing up your time while guiding your project to successful completion.
